The Department for Energy Security and Net-Zero have announced that £185 million of funding is now available under phase 3 of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF). Businesses in England, wales and Northern Ireland are now able to submit bids for grant funding. The competition window is open from Monday 29th January 2024 until Friday 19th April 2024.
What is eligible for IETF funding?
Studies - feasibility and engineering studies prior to investment.
Energy efficiency projects - technologies to reduce industrial energy consumption.
Deep Decarbonisation projects - technologies to save industrial emissions.
What has changed from last round of funding?
Sector scope has been expanded to include:
controlled environment horticulture activities
industrial laundries
textile renting facilities
Coal mining activities are no longer eligible.
Companies registered in Scotland but with industrial sites in England, Wales or Northern Ireland are able to apply.
The minimum grant threshold has been lowered from £100,000 to £75,000 for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) only, and the SME application process will be simplified.
Applicants requesting a grant of £5 million or above must submit a feasibility study or engineering study to support their application.
